About Cohen & Fila

Cohen & Fila practices exclusively in the area of consumer bankruptcy law and has been in business at the same location since 1992. Our belief is that limiting our practice to consumer bankruptcy law is the best way to represent our clients. Our number one goal is client satisfaction and to assist the honest but unfortunate individual make a fresh financial start. The vast majority of our new clients are referrals from existing clients - a fact that we believe speaks to the quality of our representation.

Thomas C. Fila
Mr. Fila was admitted to practice law in Tennessee in 1992 and has practiced nearly exclusively in the area of consumer bankruptcy law. Mr. Fila is a 1989 graduate of the University of Miami where he received a Bachelor of Science in Communications and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Memphis in 1992.

In addition to being admitted to practice law in the state of Tennessee, Mr. Fila is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

James A. Cohen
A 1992 graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law and 1989 graduate of the University of Florida, James practices exclusively in the area of consumer bankruptcy law and has represented thousands of clients over nearly 20 years of practice. In addition to being admitted to the State Bar of Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Western Division of Tennessee, James has also been admitted to the Florida Bar.
